Founded in 2003 with just four students, Dar es Salaam International Academy began with a simple vision: to provide an exceptional international education for families in Tanzania.Today, DIA is one of East Africa's leading IB World Continuum Schools, serving a diverse community of learners from around the world. Accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association (MSA), we remain committed to academic excellence, meaningful relationships and developing confident, compassionate global citizens. Our International
Baccalaureate Programmes

As one of the few IB World Continuum Schools in the region, DIA provides a connected learning journey from ages 5 to 19. Each programme builds on the last, developing academically successful, internationally minded students who are prepared to thrive in higher education, careers and life.

Kindergarten - Grade 5

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Nurtures students as inquirers, guided by six trans-disciplinary themes of global significance that enables the school to provide authentic learning experiences.

Grades 6 - 10

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Develops internationally minded learners who are empowered to be creative, reflective, and action oriented.

Grades 11 - 12

Diploma Programme (DP)

Focuses on developing learners to have a wide range of knowledge and skills, and holistically nurtures the physical, intellectual, emotional, and ethical aspects of learning.
